BHC Stenographer Skill Test Details

Particulars of examination for the post of Stenographer (Grade-3)

i. If the Screening Test for the post of Stenographer (Grade-3) is not conducted then all the eligible candidates will be called for Shorthand Tests mentioned as below.

ii. After securing cut-off marks in Screening Test (if conducted at par with the Screening Test for the post of Junior Clerk) the candidates equal to seven times the number of post advertised shall be called for Shorthand Tests, strictly on merit, mentioned as below. If there are more than one candidates who have secured same marks as secured by the last candidate shortlisted for maintaining the ratio 1:7, all such candidates shall be called to appear for Shorthand Tests.

iii. After securing cut-off marks in the Shorthand Tests, the candidate shall have to appear for Marathi Typing Test carrying 20 marks comprising of 300 words to be typed by the candidates within 10 minutes (30 w.p.m.) on Computers.

iv. Candidates who obtain cut-off marks in Marathi Typing Test only would be held eligible to appear for English Typing Test.

v. The English Typing Test carrying 20 marks comprising of 400 words to be typed by the candidates within 10 minutes (40 w.p.m.) on Computers.

vi. Candidates who obtain cut-off marks in English Typing only would be held eligible for interview.

vii. After conducting each test, the list of candidates who are eligible for further test shall be displayed on Notice Board of concerned District Courts and on the official website of concerned District Courts and High Court.

viii. Candidates equal to 3 times of the number of posts advertised based on total number of marks obtained by him/her in Screening Test (if conducted), English Shorthand Test, Marathi Shorthand Test, Marathi Typing Test and English Typing Test, strictly on merit, shall be called for interview. If there are more than one candidate who have secured same marks as secured by the last candidate shortlisted for maintaining the ratio 1:3, all such candidates shall be called to appear for interview.

• शॉर्टहँड, टायपिंग आणि व्हिवा व्हॉस मधील परीक्षेच्या आधारावर उमेदवारांची निवड केली जाईल.
• लघुलेखन आणि टायपिंग चाचण्या प्रत्येकी 40 गुणांच्या असतील आणि स्टेनोग्राफर [उच्च श्रेणी] आणि लघुलेखक [लोअर ग्रेड] या पदांसाठी Vivavoce 20 गुण असतील.

• The Shorthand and Typing tests will be of 40 marks each and  Viva­voce will be of 20 marks for the post of Stenographer [Higher Grade]  and Stenographer [Lower Grade].
• Mumbai High Court Steno Exam is Divided into three parts: PART I, PART II and VIVA-VOCE
• Its Important. for students to clear each part so that they can select as Steno in High Court

PART ­I

a] Dictation of two passages in English containing total 500 words for transcription to ascertain the speed in Shorthand for the post of Stenographer (Higher Grade).

b] Dictation of two passages in English containing total 400 words for  transcription to ascertain the speed in Shorthand for the post of Stenographer [Lower Grade].

PART – II

A passage in English containing 400 words for typing to ascertain the speed  in Typing for both the posts i.e. Stenographer [Higher Grade] and  Stenographer [Lower Grade].

PART – III

1.Viva­Voce.

2. The eligible candidates will have to appear for Shorthand Dictation Test,  Typing Test and Viva­voce as and when called for, at their own expenses.

3. The time­table and venue for Shorthand Dictation Test, Typing Test and Viva­voce of the candidates who make themselves eligible would be displayed on the official website of the High Court. Candidates can download their call

letters for Shorthand Dictation Test, Typing Test and Viva­voce from their respective profile.

4. The candidates who will be succeeded in Shorthand Dictation Test will be called for Typing Test and candidates who will be succeeded in Typing Test  will be called for Viva­voce.

5. The eligibility of the candidate, who is to be called for viva­voce /Interview in view of the marks obtained by him/her in the Shorthand Dictation Test and Typing Test, shall be finally decided after scrutiny of the applications,

verifications of documents and testimonials produced at the time of Viva­voce/Interview. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for Viva­voce/Interview.

Minimum Passing Mark For Bombay High Court Stenographer Exam 2025

• लघुलेखक [उच्च श्रेणी] या पदासाठी लघुलेखन चाचणी आणि टायपिंग चाचणीसाठी किमान उत्तीर्ण गुण अनुक्रमे 24 आणि 20 असतील. त्याचप्रमाणे लघुलेखक [लोअर ग्रेड] पदासाठी लघुलेखन चाचणी आणि टायपिंग चाचणीसाठी किमान उत्तीर्ण गुण प्रत्येकी 20 असतील.
• शॉर्टहँड ट्रान्सक्रिप्शन आणि टायपिंग चाचणी संगणकावर घेतली जाईल.
• जर उमेदवार शॉर्टहँड चाचणीत नापास झाला, तर तो/ती टायपिंग चाचणीसाठी पात्र ठरणार नाही आणि जर तो/ती टायपिंग परीक्षेत नापास झाला, तर तो/ती Vivavoce साठी पात्र असणार नाही.
