SSC JHT Scheme of Examination 2025

The examination will consist of two papers. Details of these papers are as follows:

1. Paper-I will consist solely of objective-type multiple-choice questions. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper-I. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
2. The marks obtained by candidates in the Computer-Based Examination will be normalized according to the formula provided by the Commission in Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I, dated 07-02-2019. These normalized scores will be used to determine the final merit and cutoff marks.
3. Tentative Answer Keys for Paper-I will be uploaded to the Commission’s website after the exam. Candidates can review the Answer Keys and submit any objections within the specified deadline via online mode only, with a fee of Rs 100 per question (non-refundable). Any objections submitted within the prescribed time frame will be reviewed before finalizing the Answer Keys. The Commission's decision on this matter will be final. No further objections will be entertained after the deadline.
4. The exam schedule mentioned in the notice is tentative. Any changes to the exam schedule will be communicated to the candidates through the Commission's website.
5. There will be no option for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores, and no correspondence regarding this will be entertained.
6. In Paper-II, candidates must write their correct Roll Number on the cover page of the Answer Book. They must also sign and provide their left-hand thumb impression in the designated sections. Answer Books that do not have the Roll Number, signature, and left-hand thumb impression will be awarded zero marks.
7. Candidates are strictly prohibited from writing any personal information, such as their name, roll number, mobile number, or address, inside the Answer Book (Paper-II). This will be treated as an Unfair Means (UFM) violation. Candidates who do not follow these instructions will receive zero marks, even if marks are assigned during the evaluation process.

SSC JHT Syllabus 2024

1. Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination): The questions in this paper are intended to evaluate the candidates' proficiency in language and literature. They will assess the correct usage of words, phrases, and idiomatic expressions, as well as the candidates' ability to write the language accurately, clearly, and effectively. The questions will be designed at a degree-level difficulty.

2. Paper-II (Translation and Essay): This paper will consist of two translation passages—one from Hindi to English and another from English to Hindi—as well as an essay in both Hindi and English. The purpose of this paper is to assess the candidates' translation abilities and their skills in writing and comprehending both languages with accuracy and clarity. The difficulty level of the paper will align with the educational qualifications required.

SSC JHT  Mode of Selection

1. Minimum Qualifying Marks for Computer-Based Examination:

(i) UR: 30%

(ii) OBC/EWS: 25%

(iii) All Other Categories: 20%

2. Candidates will be shortlisted for Paper-II based on their marks in Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination), categorized accordingly. In case the Computer-Based Examination is held in multiple shifts, the scores will be normalized to determine merit and final selection.

3. Final selection will be based on the combined performance in Paper-I and Paper-II. Separate category-wise cutoffs may be set for both papers.

4. The final selection and allocation of the Ministry/Department/Organization will depend on the candidates' performance in both Paper-I and Paper-II, as well as the preferences they express for the Post(s)/Department(s).
